This show rep­re­sents art­work cre­ated within the last year at alm­stu­dio, the work­ing stu­dio of Jan Oliver Alms. It is com­posed of sev­eral new explo­rative direc­tions and is like noth­ing you have ever seen in Jan’s exhibitions.

This exhibit will take a new turn in art pre­sen­ta­tion and pro­ce­dure. The show will fea­ture of a num­ber of large dip­tychs, trip­tychs and com­po­si­tions cre­ated using many 2”, 6”, and 8” square can­vases arranged by the artist. “The com­po­si­tions I am cre­at­ing for this show rep­re­sent only one pos­si­ble pre­sen­ta­tion of the work,” says Jan. “I invite the art lover to pur­chase any or all of the can­vases from a com­po­si­tion and rearrange them on the wall of their home or office, cre­at­ing their own inter­pre­ta­tion of how my work should be dis­played. I con­sider this inter­ac­tive exchange between Artist and Buyer an impor­tant aspect of the show.”

This show will be “cash & carry,” so as paint­ings are sold, the empty spaces will be replaced with more works, lead­ing to an exhibit that may be very dif­fer­ent at the end from when it opens. We hope you will visit this show more than once and enjoy this process of inter­pre­ta­tion and re-interpretation.
