Live Variety at MESH Sunday, Dec. 18th

by eliot on December 16, 2011

A free variety event at MESH featuring the psychedelic warlords Tasha Yar, the Nintendo rap stylings of Cashio & spoken word by Kevin Keck, Tim Peeler & Ted Pope.

Tasha Yar plays in the heavy, PSY style of Hawkwind. Bring a backup brain because your primary brain will be melted along with your face.

Cashio is in a genre all his own with very original lyrics often set to remixed Nintendo beats. Not since Kool Keith have you seen subject matter this colorful. Watch out for those water zombies and for god’s sake get a harder tooth brush.

American essayist & poet Kevin Keck will be performing. His writing is largely autobiographical. He is best know for his collection of personal essays Oedipus Wrecked, which chronicles his sexual coming-of-age in a humorous style that is often compared to David Sedaris & Sarah Vowell.

Also, more Southern Gothic miss-adventures from Sam & Larry, the protagonists from the book Waiting for Charlie Brown by Tim Peeler & Ted Pope.

The event will start at 6 and will last until whenever. This is a free event. There will be some mature content and Tash Yar is loud as hell so maybe leave the small children at home for this one.
